Wednesday, January 26th

Most of you know I played club soccer at the University of Florida... well, the team now has an alumni group called the "Agin' Gator Soccer Society", the motto of which is:
"Supporting the UF Soccer Club isn't everything,
It's our only thing"
There is one (fund-raising) event per year... a match pitting the "old-timers" (some of whom are in their mid-20s) against the current squad. Pictured is last year's gathering; thinking I may join them this year now that I'm back in Florida. The game is April 9th, the three-year anniversary of Lana's arrival in Heaven!

My Brother's Grandson

Raymond Joel Eklund entered this world at 3:13 Pacific Standard Time (6:13 for us east-coasters), tipping the scales at 9 lb 6 oz. He's 22" long... bound to be a tall one; his mom is 5'11" and his dad is 6'6"
Congratulations, Kristen, Joel, Steve, Kim and family...
--------------------Look forward to meeting the little guy!

Monday, January 24th

Last I heard, my niece Kristen Kynast Eklund had been in labor 21 hours out in San Francisco... she and her husband Joel are expecting their first child, a son, my brother Steve's first grandson (he does have a grand-daughter, courtesy of his own second child, Chelsea, and her husband, Adam Craw.) Kristen had just finished a three-mile-walk yesterday when her "water broke"...

Semi-Final Sunday

I don't really have a "dog in this fight"; in fact, I'm more of a college football fan, but I'll be cheering for the Packers and Steelers to make it to the Super Bowl this year, because of the allegiances of my colleagues at ACA!

Guess who's in Florida?

Yep, that curly-headed Georgia-girl stopped in last night for dinner at Grace's, and is spending the next couple of days with her grandparents in Gainesville!

The picture was actually taken last year on the coast of Australia ;-)

Three Day Weekend!

Crab Cake Factory was a hit... we tried the special of the day "Imperial Stuffed Grouper", which they split for us; can't say that I've ever had anything quite like it and it was delicious... great start to MLKing, Jr. weekend...

Snow News is Good News

TK's had a blast the first couple days of the second semester... classes have been snowed out (and are scheduled to begin late today.) ACA has another snow day today... allowing my good friend Joe Hagan to extend his celebration of his alma mater's national football championship!!

Amber and Andrew King Wedding

Grace and the author are in this picture somewhere... working in the college ministry at Chets Creek has connected us with lots of people in this phase of life......then again, I suppose we're there ourselves... after the wedding, we picked out a spot for our honeymoon June 19-25 on Amelia Island here in north Florida!

Back to School Tomorrow

Christmas Break has been wonderful! Kara and Tim were down for part of it; she's now back in Atlanta; he's with his grandparents in Gainesville... DID get to "do" church and lunch with these four (pictured in a booth at Pepper's ;-)
