Michael Johnson (pictured here with his Science teacher, Mrs. Mitchell, and classmate Michelle McVay) was the star of today's middle school baseball victory. Playing catcher, the 6th grader threw out a man trying to steal second in the top of the 7th of a tie-ballgame, led off the bottom of the inning with a triple to deep right field, and scored the game-winning run on a ground ball hit back to the pitcher. He is the fourth and youngest son of our good friends Joe & Liz Johnson.Our varsity soccer team also recorded an exciting 1-0 victory this morning over previously undefeated Caldwell Academy (ranked #4 in the state)... now lets see if Carolina can take care of business against Villanova (college basketball).
