We were "up on the roof" again early this morning for Coach Filipek's Bible study based on Hebrews 12:1-11. Among other things, Coach asked the groups to come up with definitions for "discipline"; a sampling of their responses:1. Maturity, discernment to do what is right in a given situation;
2. Setting boundaries (that you've determined not to cross);
3. An authority figure teaching and correcting out of love;
4. Effectively correcting one's behavior by means of physical punishment or verbal rebuking;
5. Having self-control to do what you are told or expected to do.
Not bad for a bunch of teenagers before breakfast!
Coach emphasized the relationship between being "disciples" and the ways we are disciplined by our Heavenly Father... great stuff!!
