Lease is up Sunday on the apartment that was my home until June 19th... Grace and I recruited some great help in the form of these two muscle men. Thanks in large part to their help, we "got 'er done", and had enough energy left to go to Joe's Crab Shack for an oceanside dinner! (Snapper Ponchartrain and a generous helping of key lime pie to celebrate :-)
David and Marcia Elder were single college students at UF and members of the Hosanna Praise team at Westside Baptist Church (where Grace's family and mine were members); they've now been married 25 years and have two sons in college... fun catching up with them over dinner @"La Cocina" in St. Augustine!
It's been at least 15 years since my last leisurely float down the Ichetucknee... not much has changed on the river; A LOT has happened in my life: Dad, Lana and some very dear friends have moved on to bigger things... Kara and Tim have grown up and continue to make me proud... there were moves to Nicaragua, Asheville, Orange Park and the job changes that go with them, and now the joy of joining forces with the sweet little lady pictured below (far right with some of the workers and students in our college ministry who joined us in today's adventure ;-)
I made sure Grace knew she wasn't marrying a handyman... The fact that we're still friends after the two-day project to assemble this tool shed means "the honeymoon is not yet over"!
