TK's first PT!
Tim texted me the following report following yesterday's match against Gardner-Webb: "lost 3-0... played the last 10-min! and had 1 shot (blocked) and almost had a 1-on-1 with the keeper but the last defender broke it up... soo much fun though!" The game was videotaped and is available on the UNCA website at http://www.uncabulldogs.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=92306&SPID=11164&ATCLID=205003500&DB_OEM_ID=19200TK is #24 (pictured on the sidelines of last Saturday's game...

You know my story: 17 years teaching Spanish/coaching soccer @Gainesville High, 14 years in administration (in Nicaragua and North Carolina), and now back in the classroom... our Principal (Mr. Ward) did his first full-observation of one of my classes this morning; you'd think I'd be over the nervousness of that routine... P.S. Comic strips like the one above (from the Managua paper) remind me how blessed I am to teach at Fleming Island High (the captions read: "the average education in Latin-America", "the average education according to the budget in Nicaragua" and "pencils are not in our budget."

Had our first pep-rally of the year this morning... in two shifts; here's look at the freshmen and seniors (a little over 1,000 students):
There were more than 10,000 fans in the stadium for the home opener against cross-county rival Clay High... Grace and I among them!
